Channel that excitement into The Desert Recreation District's comprehensive and highly acclaimed District Gymnastics Academy. Boys and girls, from toddlers on up, can progress through the various skill levels, beginning to Olympic-event apparatus. Junior- and Senior-level teams compete at gymnastics meets throughout the year. Private lessons are also available.

The Indio Community Center is the hub for all things fun, from sports to music and dance! We’re always adding new activities, so visit often to see what’s coming up. And don’t forget -- the Center’s the perfect place to rent for special celebrations and events.

Get your annual DRD Get Fit Pass today! It gives you free access to our fitness facilities in Indio, La Quinta, Palm Desert and North Shore. Indio Residents pay only $50 per year! 


The Indio Community Center held a Grand Re-Opening on Friday, June 27, 2014 to celebrate the completion of its renovation.  The newly re-done Community Center boasts a brand-new, open lobby, state-of-the art Board Room that doubles as a dance studio, new paint and new flooring.  In addition, guests can now enjoy the technological advantage of working out with Matrix Equipment and Fitness On Demand.

The District Gymnastics Academy is your source for active fun!  Our award winning Academy is chaulked full of fun equipment and is available for parties!

Everybody in the pool!  Get your fun on with family swim time, lessons for all ages, Splash Parties and cool water features. Pawley Pool Family Aquatic Complex is home to:


  • 3,750 sq. ft. pool
  • Wading pool for little swimmers
  • 1 Splash pad
  • 2 - 9 foot drop slides
  • 1 child frog slide
    Admission for Open Swim to Pawley Pool is $4 for Adults and $3 for Children.
