COMMUNITY FUN IN Oasis BEGINS HERE!

Oasis is a close-knit agricultural community nestled in the eastern Coachella Valley.  While a relatively small town, the residents are family-oriented and proud of their community and their children.  As we work on the new Oasis Community Park, we offer community activities such as Halloween and winter holiday events. OASIS COMMUNITY PARK

In 2015, Desert Recreation District purchased 15 acres of property from Coachella  Valley Unified School District to build the first community park in Oasis, which is at the site of the former Oasis Elementary School.  This first phase is on 5 acres, and includes a soccer field opening early September 2016.

Phase II will include the remaining 10 acres, and we will solicit continued input from the community as to the design and amenities the residents would like to see developed so there is an inviting and safe open-air space for their families and friends to gather and play.

This is one of several park projects we are currently engaged in to be completed over the next five years.

OasiS COMMUNITY PARK

Desert Recreation District is proud to share we have recently purchased 15 acres of property from Coachella Valley Unified School District to build the first community park in Oasis.  It is the site of the former Oasis Elementary School, and we have begun clearing the land of any old infrastructure left on the property.  We will design the park amenities wtih the community, and as part of these initial steps, we are also exploring a temporary play field to provide the earliest access possible while we are planning, identifying funding, and constructing Phase I (5 acres) of the park.

While Phase I of the park is in the works, we offer seasonal community events such as Halloween and winter-holiday events offering fun for the whole family.  Check out our Community Events page for details!
