Community Center

The Community Center is the hub for year-round fitness, recreation and classes. Work out and stay motivated with personalized training and customized workouts. Take classes to learn something new or to refine your skills.

Palm Desert Civic Center Skateboard Park

Practice your Backslide or Ollie North or just have a good time in Palm Desert's only Skateboard Park. Get your DRD Fun Pass today, only $5 for the entire year! Get yours at the Palm Desert Community Center. There are no residency restrictions. Children under 18 must have their parents present to purchase their pass.

Skate Park Rules

  • A valid Skate Park card must be purchased for $5 and must be presented to use the Skate Park.
  • A Parent or Guardian must sign a waiver for children under the age of 18.
  • Elbow Pads, Knee Pads and a Helmet must be worn at all times in the Skate Park.
  • Children under the age of 11 must be accompanied by an adult in the Skate Park.
  • Skating is permitted Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
  • Bicycles are permitted on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays.
     

Hours of Operation

During the Desert Sands Unified School District (DSUSD) School Year, the Skate Park hours are: 

Monday through Friday 2 to 9 p.m.

Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

During Summer Vacation, the Skate Park Hours are:

7 Days per Week 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The First Tee Golf Course is open to players of all ages and levels of experience. Enjoy the recently renovated grass tee driving range, 9-Hole Par 3 Golf Course and Chipping and Putting Greens, amidst a backdrop of panoramic mountain views.

 

Private Lessons

Stop by our Pro Shop to talk with our golf professionals about lessons. You can also compare your scores against official standards established by the Southern California Golf Association and work on your short game.

Free Clinics

Every Wednesday, The First Tee hosts a free Golf Clinic for all ages and levels. Our Coaches will help you improve your golf swing, chipping and putting. Come on down!

 

 

Parks & Ball Fields

The city of Palm Desert Recreation and the Desert Recreation District partner to bring residents the best possible facilities and amenities and activities that benefit all ages, such as: skate boarding, swimming, basketball, volleyball, tennis, soccer and softball.
